Was out at lunch and got back just after you were finished. Shucks!

One thing I learned long ago in public speaking is that thinking about being nervous or trying to not be nervous was counter-productive. One day, while watching someone I really liked as a speaker, I realized that he was nervous - hand shake, the whole bit. He had been speaking before large groups for years.

After that I just tried to use the nervous energy to make my presentation more animated. (Don't get moving too fast though...)

And of course, the classic formula of "Tell 'em what your gonna tell 'em, tell 'em, and tell 'em what you told 'em." Though this may not work in 15 minutes.

For "um" and "er" - breathe. You could say, "well," but you will sound like you are imitating Reagan.

Best of luck!

Wow, very cool. You sound different than what I imagined. Not that I really spent hours agonizing over what I thought you sounded like, but it was just different than my expectation. :)

Keep up the very good work.

Comments close down on posts after seven days and then the comment input form disappears.

Your comments are welcome. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" are currently banned as well. Another common bounce is any word containing the string "cialis" which means words such as socialism will be rejected. Try putting a hyphen into a word like that.
