Nice article. Unfortunately all too many women do find guns scary.
When I was teaching individuals, I would always borrow a friend's handgun that shot 22-shorts. No recoil. No loud noise. Easy to control, and really fun to shoot at short distances. After that I could get most people comfortable with 9mm, or 38 special. Not everyone would like a .45 or .357, but for a 1 or 2 hour lesson, I figured 9mm was a fine start.
The MSM paints guns demon-devices that will leap up off a shelf and kill of their own accord. You have to overcome that.
