Dog Frees Other Dogs...

By now you've all heard the story about the dog that was letting other dogs out of their cages at a shelter. From NBC5 in Dallas-FT Worth:

Red, the cunning canine behind night-time dogbreaks at a London dog pound, could soon find a new home.

Staff at the pound would arrive in the mornings to find dogs let out of their cages, but were unable to figure out how.

So, with the help of some surveillance cameras, the culprit was captured.

Red would get out of his cage and then free the other dogs by opening their cages.

After the video of the daring dogbreak aired around the world, the pound has been inundated with calls from people offering to give Red a home.

The staff is hoping the added publicity will bring new homes for Red and for all of his friends, as well.

A clever dog like this, who wants all his friends romping around with him, is a treasure. I hope someone in England adopts this clever guy but remember: When you have a really smart pet, you need to challenge them all the time to keep them from being bored. And if he can open cages, your refrigerator will be no problem at all.

My cat Crispy opens my refirgerator, the kitchen cabinets, pulls out drawers, turns on the sink fawcet, and is generally impossible. I "smooch" him every second I get because he's so cool and smart...

I'd take that dog in a second, if the current dog would allow it. There's always a catch...

they should rename this Dog "Houdini" We had a hamster as kids that we called Houdini as he could escape everything we locked him into!

My cats have learned a lot of these tricks. Geting me to open the door for them, getting me to turn on the faucet in the bathroom, getting me to open the refirgerator for them...

Hey... wait a minute!
